The exhibition "TORINO11 | BIOGRAPHY OF A CITY '", organized by Metropolitan Urban Center with the support of the City of Turin and the Committee for Celebrations of Centocinquantenario Unification of Italy in Turin and Piedmont "Italy 150” and edited by Carlo Olmo and Arnaldo Bagnasco, presents itself as one of the main events during the XXIII World Congress of Architecture.
The exhibition, scheduled from 29 June to 12 October 2008, will be set up inside the Officine Grandi Riparazioni now disused and intended in the near future to become an important centre for the arts and culture.
The exhibition will represent an important opportunity to reflect on the physical, social and economic changes of Turin from the 80s to today and to present critical processes of urban transformation.
The exhibition will be develop in different environments, dedicated to the story of some places in Turin, read as detectors of new social structures and as economic and cultural condensers.
To construct the story of these places Metropolitan Urban Center invites all citizens to provide materials to be exhibited.
In particular: video materials or photographic papers on the events that took place from 1980 to today in Turin and in particular in the following places in the city: Mirafiori, Lingotto, the old town, Spina 3 (ex Ferriere).
These materials will be seen by the curators of the exhibition and will be assessed for the use development.
